Some lessons learnt
Hello to anyone reading this! This goes without saying that am new to this venture and I don't know how long am I going to keep up with this.
I just wanted to speak about how I feel about my life and my view of it. Just a few minutes ago, I learnt something really crucial about my life. I am a student of music that includes a touch-upon on Hindustani classical music, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, Folk etc. By now you might have guessed about where exactly I belong to India.
Might be wondering why I suddenly started speaking of me being a student of music? Well the life lesson I was about to speak is quite related to it. I just came across a video on YouTube, it was a tutorial on How to do Riyaz by Sonu Nigam ji. I have always loved his way of singing and his voice. In the entire video, I learnt about how to do proper Riyaz and what Riyaz is all about. But at the very end, he said something that is going to stay with me forever. He stated that, 'if you have a special talent like you have a voice that can sing properly or you may play an instrument, you are gifted by something that's not available to someone else. And if you do so, life has given it to you for a reason. You should surrender yourself to it and take your life sincerely.'
These words might not mean much to someone else, but it meant something divine to me. I am learning singing for the past 18 years, but I never really got satisfaction of what am learning. All I feel is to get a better guru and a lonely place far away from this chaotic world to polish my art and do justice to it. I might sound selfish but deep down I know one thing for sure, there's magic in the world and one such magical power is my voice. Even if people go in and out of my life, there is this voice of mine that gives me immense pride to say that the world has magic and am a part of it, and its never gonna leave me alone!
